COAS slams Indian claims over Operation Sindoor

India’s desperate bid to drag others into a failed bilateral conflict reeks of camp politics, exposing its waning regional clout and Hindutva-fueled insecurities

By ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad today, where he addressed the graduating officers of the National Security and War Course, which included participants from all services.

In his address, the Army Chief highlighted the evolving nature of warfare and stressed the importance of mental preparedness, operational clarity, and institutional professionalism in managing complex strategic challenges. He praised premier institutions like NDU for enhancing civil-military synergy and nurturing future leaders capable of addressing hybrid, conventional, and sub-conventional threats with composure and determination.

Field Marshal Asim Munir pointed out that India’s failure to achieve its stated military objectives during Operation Sindoor—and its subsequent efforts to rationalize this shortfall with convoluted logic—reveals a lack of operational readiness and strategic foresight. He described insinuations of external support in Pakistan’s successful Operation Bunyan Marsoos as irresponsible and factually incorrect, reflecting a persistent reluctance to acknowledge the indigenous capabilities and institutional resilience.

Naming other states as participants in what was purely a bilateral military conflict is, the general said, a crude attempt at playing camp politics, as India tries desperately to remain the beneficiary of broader geopolitical contests as the so-called net security provider in a region growing increasingly weary of its hegemonic and extremist Hindutva ideology. In contrast to India’s parochial strategic behavior, Pakistan has built lasting partnerships grounded in principled diplomacy, mutual respect, and peace, establishing itself as a stabilizing force in the region.

The COAS reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance that any misadventure or attempts to undermine its sovereignty or violate its territorial integrity will be met with a swift and resolute response, without restraint or hesitation. Any attempt to target population centers, military bases, economic hubs, or ports will provoke a deeply hurting and more than reciprocal response. The responsibility for escalation, he said, will rest squarely on the strategically blind and arrogant aggressor who fails to recognize the serious consequences of provocative actions against a sovereign nuclear state.

The COAS remarked that wars are not won through media rhetoric, imported fancy hardware, or political sloganeering, but through faith, professional competence, operational clarity, institutional strength, and national resolve. He concluded by expressing full confidence in the professionalism, morale, and readiness of the battle-hardened Armed Forces of Pakistan and urged the graduating officers to remain steadfast in the values of integrity, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to the nation.
