SUKKUR: A group of 14 senior civil service officers from the 37th Senior Management Course at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Lahore, visited the Commissioner Office Sukkur Division on Monday as part of an interactive study tour. The delegation, representing federal, provincial, and allied services, engaged in an immersive session aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the administrative framework and governance practices of the Sukkur Division.
Commissioner Fayaz Hussain Abbasi emphasized the necessity of coordination between government institutions and local representatives in addressing grassroots issues. “Collaboration between government functionaries and local bodies is the cornerstone of responsive governance. By aligning priorities and resources, we can bridge gaps in service delivery and empower communities,” he said.
The session opened with a detailed presentation by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Urwa, who elaborated on the Commissionerate’s key responsibilities, strategic operations, and notable achievements. She spotlighted innovative management approaches, recent public service delivery successes, and persistent governance challenges, particularly in revenue management and disaster preparedness.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Raja MB Dharejo highlighted several transformative projects initiated by the district administration with a strong citizen-centric focus. He shared efforts in improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure, and stressed the importance of incorporating technology to enhance transparency. These efforts include the digitization of land records and the optimization of grievance redressal mechanisms.
