KARACHI: The Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has taken notice of violations of the city’s ban on paid parking and the government’s directive to provide free parking facilities. He directed the town administrations to immediately end paid parking and warned that violators would face strict legal action, including arrests.
In a meeting at his office on Friday, the commissioner reviewed the implementation of the free parking system, measures to control heavy traffic during peak hours, and restrictions on intercity bus movement within the city. He instructed deputy commissioners and the traffic police to ensure roads near markets and bazaars are kept free for single-line parking, maintaining discipline and order.
The commissioner emphasized the need for special attention to traffic management during Ramazan, instructing authorities to take priority measures to prevent congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the month.
