KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has implemented a comprehensive monitoring plan for the upcoming by-elections in Sindh, set for November 14, by establishing control rooms across provincial, divisional, and district levels. These control rooms, according to the Sindh Election Commission’s spokesperson, will be fully operational 24 hours prior to the commencement of elections and will continue to function until results are collected from all polling stations. This setup is intended to ensure transparency and efficiency in the voting and reporting processes.

The by-elections aim to fill vacant local government seats across 26 districts in Sindh. The list of districts where elections will take place includes: Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Thatta, Malir, Korangi Karachi, Karachi West, Karachi South, Karachi Central, and Karachi Kemari.

The ECP’s proactive approach—marked by real-time monitoring and constant communication through control rooms—reflects its efforts to facilitate a fair and secure electoral environment. The deployment of control rooms will provide a centralized channel for reporting any irregularities and addressing issues that may arise during the election process, reinforcing the commission’s commitment to upholding democratic processes in Sindh.
