ISLAMABAD: Cotton House, a Pakistan-based global textile sourcing and supply organization, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of Textile, Leather, and Silk Industries, marking a new step in regional textile cooperation.

The agreement was formalized by Nozimjon Kholmurodov, Director of the Uzbek agency, and Fouzia Atif, Founder and CEO of Cotton House, in a ceremony aimed at fostering closer ties between Uzbek manufacturers and international markets.

The MoU is designed to integrate Uzbekistan’s textile sector into global supply chains through Cotton House’s extensive network of buyers across Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Under the agreement, Cotton House will collaborate with the Uzbek ministry to identify and develop qualified suppliers of fabrics, yarns, and value-added textile products, facilitating smoother access to international markets.

Officials said the initiative would focus on enhancing production capabilities and compliance with international standards, enabling local manufacturers to produce higher-value categories such as garments and home textiles. By improving quality and operational standards, the partnership aims to boost Uzbekistan’s exports while creating a more competitive and sustainable textile sector.

Fouzia Atif described the MoU as a milestone in regional textile cooperation, highlighting the potential for mutual growth and stronger trade linkages between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. The agreement is expected to open new opportunities for manufacturers and contribute to the long-term development of the textile industry in both countries.
