KARACHI: Madhubala, the cherished elephant of Karachi Zoo, has been relocated to Safari Park today in a significant move coordinated by Forepaaz and zoo authorities.
To ensure a smooth and secure transition, Madhubala was sedated during the transport process. Metro Morning correspondent Musarrat Arif reported from the zoo that all arrangements for the move were carefully made. This relocation marks the end of Madhubala’s long-standing residence at Karachi Zoo, where she has become a beloved figure. Authorities have stressed that the move was the part of an ongoing effort to provide her with a more suitable environment.
The public eagerly anticipated her arrival at Safari Park, where she benefited from improved facilities and open spaces that are expected to enhance her well-being. After more than a year of careful preparation, Madhubala has been moved to a more species-appropriate enclosure. At Karachi Safari Park, she would have access to mud baths, a large natural pool for bathing, and a variety of soil for dusting herself.
In a heartwarming turn, Madhubala would also be reunited with her sisters after 15 years of separation. The three elephants would have ample time to re-establish their bond in a safe and supportive environment, where they can thrive together in their new home at Karachi Safari Park.
