DADU: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dadu Syed Murtaza Ali Shah, a solidarity rally was taken out on February 5 to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, starting from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Dadu and proceeding to the Dadu Press Club.
The rally was attended by SSP Dadu Captain (retd) Ameer Saud Magsi, DHO Dadu Syed Imdad Ali Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Wajahat Ghafoor, District Information Officer Zeeshan Ali Laghari, along with officials from the revenue, education, local government and municipal administrations. Representatives of civil society, journalists and people from various walks of life also participated in large numbers.
At the outset of the rally, a one-minute silence was observed to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people facing Indian atrocities. The rally moved from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office via SSP Chowk and Kutchery Road before reaching the Dadu Press Club.
Participants carried Pakistani and Kashmiri flags and raised slogans against Indian oppression, in support of the oppressed Kashmiri people and in favour of the Pakistan Army.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Dadu Syed Murtaza Ali Shah said that on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the district administration had organised the rally in collaboration with civil society and people from different walks of life. He said Kashmir was an inseparable part of Pakistan and its jugular vein, and that the struggle would continue until Kashmir achieved freedom. He added that Pakistan would continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people and would keep expressing full solidarity with them at every forum.
Speaking on the occasion, the SSP Dadu said that Kashmiri brothers had rendered immense sacrifices in their struggle for freedom, offering thousands of lives, and that the Pakistani nation stood with them. He said this struggle would one day bear fruit and Kashmir would become part of Pakistan.
