DADU: Officials in Dadu convened a key session to assess the implementation of Pakistan’s National Prevention of Violent Extremism (NPVE) Policy 2024, a framework developed by the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) to curb radicalization and promote social cohesion.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner-I (ADC-I) Wajahat Ghafoor and brought together government representatives, social organizations, and community leaders to review strategic objectives and operational plans. The NPVE Policy, designed to address the underlying causes of violent extremism, prioritizes human rights, community engagement, and the promotion of a positive national narrative.
Participants stressed the importance of a unified approach across government departments and civil society, highlighting media engagement as a critical tool for promoting messages of peace, tolerance, and mutual respect. The session also examined programs aimed at rehabilitating and reintegrating marginalized groups vulnerable to radicalization.

A major focus of the meeting was the review of the National Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Centre’s (NIFTAC) 12-month work plan, covering November 2025 to October 2026. Officials evaluated planned activities, interdepartmental coordination mechanisms, and reporting structures to ensure the effective operationalization of the policy.
Clear directives were issued to all relevant departments to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure compliance with the implementation framework. ADC-I Wajahat Ghafoor underlined the urgency of effective policy execution, noting that coordinated efforts are vital to counter emerging extremist threats and strengthen community resilience.
Representatives from social organizations, including Muhammad Asif Malik, Abdul Aziz Babar, Faniyaz June, Shehzad Iqbal, Arbab Rustomani, and Imran Korai, also contributed recommendations on improving outreach, education, and engagement strategies.
The meeting reflected a growing emphasis on integrating cultural, scientific, and artistic initiatives as instruments for fostering creativity, tolerance, and social stability. Officials signaled that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to ensure Pakistan’s communities remain vigilant, inclusive, and resistant to extremist influence.
