DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The district administration in Dera Ismail Khan carried out an outreach drive to identify homeless and destitute individuals across the district, acting on directives issued by the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The campaign was conducted in collaboration with the district officer for social welfare, with teams visiting multiple locations after sunset, including Bannu Road, Bannu Adda and Circular Road. During the operation, 27 homeless individuals, including women and children, were identified and shifted to a government-run shelter home.
Officials said the shelter facility was fully operational and equipped with round-the-clock electricity backup, hot water, separate rooms for women and washrooms with hot running water. Adequate bedding and blankets were provided, and residents were also being served free breakfast.
The district administration said ensuring the safety, protection and rehabilitation of homeless and vulnerable individuals during the winter season remained a top priority of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government.
