KARACHI: A delegation of the Peoples Labor Union, District Korangi, met with Chairman Korangi Town Muhammad Naeem Sheikh at his office in the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Korangi. The delegation was led by union president Adnan Habib Siddiqui and included Ahmar Ali Khan, President of Korangi Town, and General Secretary Abdul Rashid.

The meeting focused on long-standing issues faced by TMC Korangi employees, particularly delays in promotions and concerns over the service structure. The delegation called for promotions to be transparent, merit-based, and timely, taking into account performance, seniority, and merit. They stressed the urgent formation of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).

Chairman Naeem Sheikh listened carefully to the union’s concerns and assured that employee issues would be addressed as a priority. He immediately ordered the formation of the DPC and directed officers to ensure all promotion matters were completed according to rules and regulations.

“Employees of TMC Korangi are a valuable asset. Ensuring their legitimate rights and opportunities for promotion is our responsibility. There will be no compromise on merit or transparency,” he said.

Adnan Habib Siddiqui welcomed the decision, calling the DPC formation a fulfilment of long-standing demands. He said it would help resolve grievances while promoting discipline and efficiency and expressed hope that future labor-friendly decisions would follow the same spirit.

The meeting was also attended by Director IT Shujaat Hussain, Director Admin Asif Ahmed, Deputy Director Admin Rehmat Iqbal, Accounts Officer Shahzaib, and other officials, who pledged to implement the Chairman’s directives immediately.
