ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar acknowledged the important role played by the United States private sector in enhancing trade and economic ties between Pakistan and the US. Speaking in Islamabad, he said that private enterprise had been instrumental in fostering bilateral cooperation and creating opportunities for investment and growth.
Dar was addressing a joint delegation from the Economic-Pakistan American Council and the United Muslim American Association, who were visiting the capital to discuss avenues for strengthening economic and social engagement between the two countries. He highlighted that collaboration between businesses on both sides not only expanded trade but also contributed to mutual understanding and long-term strategic partnership.
In addition to economic matters, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the role of civil society in fostering interfaith harmony and bridging cultural divides. He said that organizations promoting dialogue, understanding, and people-to-people interaction were crucial in building a foundation of trust and cooperation that complemented formal diplomatic and trade relations.
Officials present at the meeting noted that Dar encouraged continued engagement through business councils, educational exchanges, and collaborative initiatives that could enhance both economic development and social cohesion. Analysts said his remarks reflected a broader Pakistani effort to leverage private sector and civil society networks as instruments of diplomacy, particularly in nurturing ties with key international partners.
