ISLAMABAD: A drug dealer was apprehended near a well-known university in Islamabad after confessing to selling narcotics to students. The arrest was part of an ongoing crackdown by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to combat drug distribution within educational institutions. During a search operation near the university’s main gate, ANF officials discovered 1.2 kilograms of hashish and 151 grams of other illicit substances concealed in the suspect’s vehicle.
Under interrogation, the accused admitted to specifically targeting students from the university for his drug sales. The ANF has filed charges against the suspect under the Anti-Narcotics Act and has initiated further investigations into the case.
A spokesperson for the force highlighted the increasing threat posed by drug proliferation within educational institutions, stressing the importance of sustained vigilance and stringent measures to protect the youth from drug abuse. The ANF reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring educational environments remain drug-free, aiming to safeguard the younger generation and secure their futures from the dangers of substance abuse.
