KARACHI: A deputy superintendent of police who had been injured during a raid in the Mustafa Amir murder case has died after remaining under treatment for several weeks, officials said.
According to the Deputy Inspector General (South), DSP Ahsan Zulfiqar had been admitted to a private hospital since sustaining gunshot wounds during the operation and succumbed to his injuries after a prolonged struggle.
The incident took place on February 8, 2025, when police conducted a raid at the residence of the suspect, Armaghan. During the operation, the accused opened fire, leaving DSP Ahsan Zulfiqar and another police official injured.
Police later managed to arrest the suspect after several hours of efforts.Mustafa Amir, a resident of Karachi’s Defence area, had gone missing on January 6, 2025.
His body was recovered from Hub on February 14, 2025.Investigators said the victim had been tortured by his childhood friends, placed in a car and set on fire, in a case that had shocked the city.
