TANDO ALLAHYAR: Residents of Tando Allahyar will begin receiving electronic traffic fines from 1 January, as the e-challan system is set to be introduced in the district in line with other parts of Sindh.
Preparations for the rollout are under way, with traffic police launching an awareness campaign to inform citizens about the new enforcement mechanism. Officials say motorists must ensure they carry complete vehicle documents, including registration papers, a valid driving licence and the original national identity card.
Under the new system, motorcyclists will be required to wear helmets, while car drivers must fasten seat belts. Authorities have also stressed that vehicle number plates and other mandatory signs must be correct and clearly displayed.
The traffic incharge said citizens could avoid e-challans by fully complying with legal requirements and keeping all necessary documents with them while travelling. He added that the initiative aims not only to improve compliance with traffic laws but also to reduce road accidents and inconvenience to the public.
