RAWALPINDI: In a significant counter-terrorism effort, security forces conducted two operations on October 9 and 10, 2024, resulting in the deaths of four Khawarij militants in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
On October 9, an intelligence-based operation was executed in the Janikhel area of Bannu District following reports of Khawarij presence. During this operation, security forces engaged in an intense firefight with the militants, ultimately resulting in the deaths of two Khawarij.
The following day, on October 10, another operation was carried out in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan District. During this operation, security personnel effectively targeted the Khawarij’s location, leading to another exchange of fire that resulted in the elimination of two additional militants. Alongside the fatalities, weapons and ammunition were recovered, highlighting the militants’ involvement in various terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces and the abduction and targeting of innocent civilians.
In response to these operations, security forces are undertaking thorough sanitization of the areas involved to eliminate any remaining Khawarij and ensure the safety of local communities. The determination of the security forces to eradicate terrorism from the region remains steadfast as they continue their efforts to restore peace and stability.
