PESHAWAR: Acting on directives from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone, a joint operation was conducted in the Pahari Pura area targeting the illegal trade of misbranded and repackaged surgical items.
The raid, supervised by the Deputy Director FIA ACC Peshawar, involved a team including SHO Talha Zaman, SI Zahoor Ali, SI Fahad Khan, ASI Ilyas, ASI Javed Afzal, FC Sabi Ullah, HC Asif Khan, Lady Constable Nazia Wazir, and FC Muhammad Khan. Provincial drug inspectors, led by Senior Drug Inspector Safi Ullah and Inspector Irfan Wazir, also assisted, with support from local police.
Authorities recovered a significant quantity of suspected misbranded and repackaged surgical items, some marked “Not for Sale,” with an estimated value of around Rs. 2 million. The items have been seized by drug inspectors, and samples sent for laboratory testing and analysis. Legal proceedings, including FIR registration, will follow after receiving results from the Drug Authority.
The FIA reaffirmed its commitment to combating illegal activities and protecting public health, pledging continued strict action against offenders without discrimination.
