DADU: The Education Department in Dadu took a firm step against administrative irregularities after identifying 50 so-called ‘ghost teachers’ listed in official records, officials confirmed on Thursday, 18 December 2025.
The discovery, part of a routine review of staffing and payroll records, highlighted discrepancies that have long undermined accountability and transparency in the district’s primary education system. According to a report submitted by the Chief Monitoring Officer, the District Officer for Primary Education, Liaquat Naich, has issued show-cause notices to all teachers named in the investigation.
Both male and female educators feature on the list, reflecting the widespread nature of the anomaly. The notices require the teachers to appear for personal hearings and submit written explanations within specified deadlines. Naich emphasized that failure to provide satisfactory responses would compel the department to forward recommendations for formal disciplinary action to higher authorities.
The move underscores the department’s commitment to ensuring that public resources allocated for education reach legitimate personnel and serve their intended purpose. Officials described the exercise as part of broader efforts to strengthen institutional oversight and improve the quality of primary education in the district.
While the investigation is ongoing, authorities assured that any confirmed irregularities would be addressed promptly, signaling a zero-tolerance approach to absenteeism and falsified records in Dadu’s schools.
