SUKKUR: Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, First Lady of Pakistan and Member of the National Assembly, undertook a one-day visit to Nawabshah on Friday, accompanied by Sindh Minister for Health Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho. The visit focused on assessing local infrastructure and health facilities in the region. During her visit, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari inspected the city’s drainage system, receiving a detailed briefing from the city administration on its current state and recent improvements. The inspection was part of her broader agenda to address civic issues and improve local infrastructure.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari toured various parts of Nawabshah, including the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Institute of Urology and Transplantation. She was welcomed by PPP workers who showered her with flower petals and chanted slogans in praise of her family’s legacy, including “Jai Bhutto Jai Benazir.” As part of her visit, she inaugurated the newly constructed NICVD building, underscoring her commitment to enhancing healthcare facilities in the area. Additionally, she inspected a flood drainage project aimed at managing rainwater and mitigating flood risks. The Deputy Commissioner of Nawabshah, Shahryar Gul Memon, provided a briefing on the situation following recent rains, highlighting the local administration’s response efforts.
In a gesture of solidarity, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also visited the residence of Musharraf Ali Bhatti, former president of the Nawabshah Press Club, to offer condolences on the passing of his sister. The visit was attended by several key figures, including Deputy Commissioner Shahryar Gul Memon, Mayor Kazi Rashid Bhatti, PPP District President and Chairman District Council Chacha Ali Akbar Jamali, District General Secretary Ghulam Shah Laghari, Town Chairman Syed Atif Zaidi, and other party representatives. The visit emphasized ongoing efforts to address local issues and strengthen community ties in Nawabshah.
