DERA ISMAIL KHAN: City Police carried out a series of targeted operations over the past week, resulting in the arrest of five suspects linked to theft and narcotics offences, officials confirmed. During the raids, authorities recovered a stolen motorcycle, proceeds from the sale of a stolen rickshaw, and a range of illegal drugs, underscoring the force’s continued efforts to clamp down on criminal activity in the district.
The operations were conducted under the supervision of District Police Officer Dera, Sajjad Ahmed Sabzwari, with leadership from DSP City Circle Hafiz Muhammad Adnan and SHO Cadet Khanzada Khan. Police said the actions were part of an ongoing campaign against criminal elements in the city and surrounding areas.
In one operation, Muhammad Nadeem, son of Mirolli from Madina Colony, was arrested in possession of a stolen motorcycle. Authorities also detained Amirullah, son of Lal Bat Khan from Khesori, recovering Rs 30,000, reportedly the proceeds from the sale of a stolen Qingqi rickshaw.
In separate raids targeting narcotics activity, Muhammad Ishaq, son of Altaf from Umar Town, was arrested with 80 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ice), 530 grams of charas, and a 32-bore pistol with ammunition. Attaullah, son of Elahi Bakhsh, also from Umar Town, was taken into custody with 150 grams of ice and 370 grams of heroin.
Police have registered cases against all five suspects and confirmed that they remain in custody pending further investigation. Authorities emphasised that these operations reflect a sustained commitment to disrupting criminal networks and ensuring public safety, while urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
The recent arrests highlight ongoing challenges in Dera Ismail Khan, where law enforcement continues to tackle both property crimes and drug-related offences in a coordinated effort to restore security across the district.
