QUETTA: In a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Balochistan, security forces successfully neutralized five terrorists and injured three others. The operations took place in the districts of Kech, Panjgur, and Zhob during the night of August 29-30. These actions were in direct response to recent terrorist attacks that have targeted civilians, which the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has condemned as “cowardly terrorist activities.”
According to the ISPR, the IBOs involved intense firefights, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists and injuries to three others. The operations were part of a broader strategy to address escalating security threats in the region. The ISPR emphasized that these efforts are crucial for maintaining the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan. The recent escalation of violence in Balochistan has seen several deadly incidents. On August 26, an attack in the Rarasham area of Musakhail district claimed the lives of at least 23 passengers.
This was followed by another attack where 10 individuals, including police and Balochistan Levies personnel, were martyred in Kalat. Additionally, 14 security personnel were killed during clearance operations that also led to the elimination of 21 militants. The ISPR affirmed that the security forces’ sanitization operations would persist until all those responsible for the recent attacks are apprehended.
The operations underscore the commitment of the security forces and the nation to prevent any attempts to disrupt the region’s stability and progress. The ongoing efforts are aimed at countering terrorist threats and ensuring the safety of civilians in Balochistan. The recent actions and continued operations highlight the determination of security forces to address the rising threat of terrorism and reinforce the security and stability of Balochistan.
