DUBAI: Foreign flight landings have been suspended at Dubai’s two major airports, according to the UAE civil aviation authority. The restrictions apply to both Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport as authorities respond to the evolving security situation in the region.
Officials said incoming international flights were temporarily halted at the airports, while flight monitoring websites reported that Dubai-based airlines have also begun limiting operations again due to the current circumstances. Airlines are adjusting schedules as authorities monitor the situation.
In a separate development, a fire triggered by a drone attack at Abu Dhabi’s Shah gas field has been brought under control. The Abu Dhabi government said emergency and rescue teams successfully contained the blaze, but operations at the field will remain suspended until a full assessment of the damage is completed.
