KARACHI: Police and rescue teams recovered four bodies from a manhole near Mai Kolachi in Karachi, officials confirmed.
DIG South Asad Raza stated that the victims include one man, two women, and one child. He added that preliminary observations suggest the bodies are between 10 and 15 days old and have been transferred to the hospital for legal and forensic procedures.
According to police, rescue authorities were first alerted by local residents about a single body in the manhole. Upon removal of surrounding stones, three additional bodies were discovered.
The rescue team has not yet confirmed whether the victims show signs of physical abuse. Investigators are working to obtain CCTV footage from the surrounding area as part of the ongoing probe.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the discovery of four bodies—including two women, one man, and a child—from a nullah in Karachi’s Malir area. Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, the Chief Minister directed the police and relevant authorities to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation.
