WANA: In a fierce clash between Pakistani security forces and Khawarij militants in South Waziristan, four army personnel have embraced martyrdom, while six Khawarij fighters were killed. The confrontation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in combating terrorism in the region.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exchange of fire occurred as security forces engaged with Khawarij militants. The martyrs have been identified as Havaldar Nisar Hussain, Naik Rashid Gul, Naik Irfanullah Khan, and Sepoy Usman Rafaqat. Their sacrifice underscores the continuing struggle against terrorism and the high cost borne by Pakistan’s military in securing the nation. The ISPR spokesperson emphasized that the security forces remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicating terrorism.
“The sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen our resolve,” the statement read. It also noted that a sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area and ensure the safety of the region from external influences. The clash in South Waziristan is a stark reminder of the persistent security challenges in the region and the crucial role of Pakistan’s armed forces in maintaining stability and combating extremist threats. The nation mourns the loss of its brave soldiers and stands united in supporting the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security.
