KARACHI: The body of a young woman dressed in a school uniform was discovered in a garbage dump in Malir on Thursday. The body was found near Khokhrapar No.1, close to Shams Hotel, within the jurisdiction of Khokhrapar police station.
The police secured the body and transported it to Khokhrapar police station before moving it to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. According to Khokhrapar police station SHO Adeel Ahmad Shah, the deceased was wearing a private school uniform. Police contacted a private school in Model Colony, which identified the uniform as belonging to a design used before a monogram change two years ago. The school administration confirmed they had no records of the girl’s absence.
The deceased was later identified as Faiza, a divorced mother of two. Her family reported to the police that she struggled with drug addiction and was living with her father. They speculated that she may have found and worn the school uniform from the garbage dump.
SHO Shah stated that no visible signs of violence were found on Faiza’s body. However, the body appeared bloated, suggesting it had been in the dump for approximately five to six days. The cause of death remains undetermined, and further investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
