DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Gomal University celebrated a historic milestone on Friday as its Faculty of Allied Health Sciences held the convocation ceremony for the first-ever graduating batch (2021–2026) of the Department of Physical Therapy.
The event, held on the university campus, brought together senior management, faculty members, graduating students, and their families to mark the culmination of five years of rigorous academic training.
Prominent attendees included Pro Vice Chancellor Naimatullah Babar, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Zahid Awan, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Shafiullah Khan, DSA Noor Muhammad Marwat, Director of Allied Health Sciences Atif Rahman, and Head of Department Iram Farooq.
The ceremony opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a solemn and celebratory tone. Speeches by senior officials lauded the students’ dedication, resilience, and achievements over the course of their studies, while also highlighting the rapid growth and academic development of the department itself. Graduates were formally awarded their certificates, and commemorative shields were presented to honored guests in recognition of their support and guidance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, celebrating the department’s first graduating batch as a landmark achievement for Gomal University. Faculty members and students alike described the convocation as a proud moment in the university’s history, reflecting both the institution’s commitment to quality education and its expanding role in shaping healthcare professionals equipped to meet the needs of the community.
