MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Govinda has reached out to the Indian media, urging them not to misinterpret a recent accidental shooting incident that left him injured. The actor was discharged from a private hospital in Mumbai on October 4 after receiving emergency treatment for a leg injury incurred during the incident.
The accidental shooting occurred on October 1, around 5 PM, when Govinda was handling his revolver at home. Reports indicate that the gun slipped from his hand and discharged, causing a deep wound to his leg. Following the accident, he was admitted to the hospital, where he underwent treatment and received 8 to 10 stitches.
Upon his discharge, Govinda expressed gratitude towards the doctors, hospital staff, and well-wishers who supported him during this challenging time. He also thanked his fans, politicians, and fellow actors who reached out to inquire about his well-being.
Reflecting on the incident, Govinda remarked, “At first, I couldn’t believe how the shot happened—it was sudden and purely accidental.” He emphasized the importance of firearm safety, urging his fans to learn from his experience and exercise caution when handling guns.
In his plea to the media, he stated, “Please don’t give this incident any other interpretation. The truth is that it was purely accidental.” Fortunately, Govinda is now out of danger and is recuperating at home, focusing on his recovery.
