KARACHI: A prominent global affairs analyst, Hassan Al-Tarzi, issued a striking statement that drew attention across diplomatic circles, arguing that Pakistan occupied a uniquely influential position in current geopolitical tensions.
Hassan Al-Tarzi has issued a statement that has stunned the world. He said that Pakistan is the only world power that has “special and deep relations” with both the United States and Iran, and that is why the world is looking only to Pakistan to open the “Strait of Hormuz”, the artery of the global economy, and to completely end war in the region.
According to Al-Tarzi, Pakistan’s military and political leadership is not only interested in this m!ss!on, but also has the full capacity to complete it. He said Pakistan was the only country in the world maintaining what he described as “special and deep relations” with both the United States and Iran. This rare dual engagement, he suggested, placed Islamabad at the center of efforts to stabilize the region.
According to Al-Tarzi, the global community was now looking towards Pakistan to help ensure the reopening and security of the Strait of Hormuz — a critical artery of the world economy through which a significant portion of global oil supplies passes. He said the country’s strategic ties and diplomatic reach gave it leverage unmatched by other regional players.
He added that Pakistan’s civil and military leadership were not only interested in playing such a role but also possessed the capacity to carry it through. In his assessment, Islamabad could act as a bridge between rival powers and contribute to easing tensions that have threatened to escalate into wider conflict.
His remarks come at a time of heightened uncertainty in the Gulf, with concerns over trade routes and energy security continuing to unsettle global markets. While his claims may be seen as ambitious, they reflect a growing perception in some quarters that Pakistan’s diplomatic positioning could prove significant in efforts to prevent further instability in the region.
