
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported a shift in the monsoon system, reducing the likelihood of heavy rain in Karachi. The system is now moving towards central and upper Sindh, as well as Balochistan. A PMD alert issued on Saturday indicates that while Karachi may still experience light to moderate rainfall, heavier downpours are anticipated in cities like Jacobabad, Larkana, Dadu, Shikarpur, Ghotki, and Sukkur. The PMD forecasts that this weather system may persist in Sindh until the morning of August 19.
The latest advisory shows a decrease in the intensity of rain for Karachi, despite earlier predictions of thundershowers within the next 24 hours. have already experienced rainfall. In Lahore, the weather has turned pleasant with ongoing rain and strong winds in some areas. Rainfall has also been recorded in other regions of Punjab, such as Sheikhupura, Rahim Yar Khan, and Kasur, as well as in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
