SUKKUR: The protest by IBA 40+ PST/JEST waiting teacher candidates has entered its 287th day, with demonstrators expressing frustration over delays in recruitment and alleged discrimination in the Sindh education system.
The protest, led by Ayaz Magsi, Zia-ur-Rehman Phulpoto, Atta-ur-Rehman Shaikh, and Amjad Ali Thebo, highlighted the plight of youth and candidates across Sindh who have been waiting nearly nine months for justice. Protesters warned that their patience had reached its limit and demanded immediate action.
Candidates expressed concern that while a committee in the Sindh Assembly has made decisions in favour of certain areas, such as Umerkot, IBA 40+ candidates in other districts have been ignored. They described this selective approach as a serious injustice.
Further grievances were raised regarding the Khairpur Education Department’s ongoing DRC Revision process, which has been conducted in secrecy over the past three months. Protesters claimed that fake degrees, fake disability certificates, and over 450 fraudulent offer orders remain unexposed, indicating corruption and internal manipulation.
The protesters presented clear demands, including the immediate recruitment of all IBA 40+ waiting candidates, approval of new SNE posts strictly on STR basis, extension of recruitment deadlines by one year, cancellation of fake offer orders and certificates, full transparency of all DRC Revision reports, and disclosure of all PST/JEST vacancies based on June 30, 2025 data and February 16 HR letter.
They warned that if justice is not delivered promptly, a permanent protest camp will be established outside the District Education Office in Khairpur, and demonstrations will continue day and night until their demands are met.
