
SUKKUR: Sukkur IBA University and Shah Abdul Latif University hosted impactful events to mark “Youm-e-Istehsal” (Siege Day), demonstrating their unwavering support for the Kashmiri people and their struggle for justice.
At Sukkur IBA University, the occasion was marked by a prominent solidarity walk across the campus. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh led the event, reaffirming the university’s commitment to the Kashmiri cause. “Today we stand in strong solidarity with the people of Kashmir, whose struggle for justice and peace continues to resonate globally,” said Professor Shaikh.
The event saw active participation from Pro Vice Chancellors Professor Dr. Syed Mir Muhammad Shah and Professor Eng Dr. Madad Ali Shah, alongside faculty members, students, and staff. The walk served as a focal point for discussions and activities aimed at deepening understanding and support for Kashmir.
Students at Sukkur IBA University also took a stand, with numerous participants joining the solidarity walk. A student representative emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “We are here today to show that the voice of the Kashmiri people is heard and that their plight matters to us. Our solidarity is a testament to our commitment to human rights and justice.”
Similarly, Shah Abdul Latif University observed Kashmir Day with a special program at the Students Societies Center. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Pakistan’s national anthem. Asad Abbas, President of the Kashmir and Palestine Students Society, welcomed the attendees.
