KARACHI: The Pakistan Independent Living Centre (PILC) warmly hosted renowned physician and Chairman of the Ibni Sina Institute, Dr. Kemal Aydın.  The Independent Living Centre works to ensure that persons with disabilities have the support, respect, and opportunities they need to participate fully in society.

On the occasion, the Pakistan Independent Living Centre, the Ibni Sina Institute, and the World Media Forum agreed to collaborate to provide quality healthcare directly at patients’ doorsteps. Speaking at the event, Dr. Kemal Aydın said the World Health and Ageing Convention (WHAC) – Antalya 2026 will provide a global platform for high-level dialogue, policy development, and international cooperation on health and ageing.

Dr. Aydın added that the Ibni Sina Institute (ISI) plans to collaborate with a number of organizations to create a platform for advancing the common goal of better healthcare and ageing solutions. He noted that these initiatives build on the legacy of Ibn Sina, commemorating the 1,000th anniversary of Al-Qanun fi al-Tibb, bridging science, diplomacy, and social innovation.

General Secretary of PILC, Hussain Ali, expressed gratitude to Dr. Aydın and the participants before briefing them on PILC’s operational SOPs and its outreach and support for persons with disabilities in society. Dr. Aydın’s visit and engagement with the PILC team highlighted the importance of global collaboration, healthy ageing, and inclusive independent living for persons with disabilities and older adults.

The participants were included CEO Shail Bughio, Tariq Samuel, Vice President Sameen, Media Manager Syed Sohaib Ali, Prof. Dr. Rafiq Khanani, Prof Dr. Nadeem, Toastmaster Augustine G. Gill, Saleem Shaikh, Fehmina Adeel, Zehan Saaz, and others.
