KARACHI: A delegation from the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire recently visited Karachi to participate in the Sustainable Tourism Forum and Expo, jointly organized by the International Center for Cultural Diplomacy (ICCD) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
The visit offered the Ivorian representatives a chance to explore the city’s cultural, historical, and economic landscape. During their stay, the delegation toured various parts of Karachi, gaining firsthand exposure to its rich cultural diversity, heritage sites, and vibrant urban life. They also visited the Quaid-e-Azam Flagstaff, paying homage to Pakistan’s founding father and reflecting on the country’s historical legacy.
The delegation was hosted at a dinner by the Honorary Consul of Côte d’Ivoire in Karachi, Fazal Karim Dadabhoy. Discussions at the event focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. Speaking on the occasion, Dadabhoy highlighted that ties between Pakistan and Côte d’Ivoire were steadily growing.
Dadabhoy noted that bilateral trade currently stood at approximately USD 200 million and emphasized the untapped potential to further enhance economic and commercial relations. The visiting delegates expressed admiration for Karachi’s hospitality, local cuisine—including traditional parathas and tea—vibrant culture, and pleasant weather.
They noted the similarities in traditions and values shared by the peoples of both countries and praised the warmth of their reception. Earlier, the delegation met with the Honorary Consul General, who provided an overview of the consulate’s work to promote friendship, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation between the two nations.
