LAKKI MARWAT: An improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a police patrol in the Shahbaz Khel area, injuring an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and four other officers, police confirmed.
The explosion occurred when a motorcycle rigged with an IED detonated near a mobile police van during routine patrolling. The injured officers were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
DPO Nazir Khan arrived at the scene with contingents from the Counter Terrorism Department and Bomb Disposal Squad to inspect the site. He directed a comprehensive investigation into the attack and ordered a large-scale search operation to apprehend those responsible. Security measures in the area have been tightened to prevent further incidents.
