ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has dismissed the request of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder to be transferred to a private hospital.
A three-page written verdict was issued by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, instructing the Chief Commissioner to form a medical board including Dr. Arif and Dr. Nadeem Qureshi. The court also ordered that the family be informed according to jail rules.
The verdict states that the medical board will submit its report to the Chief Commissioner, who will decide whether to transfer the PTI founder based on the findings. The court emphasised that the government retains the authority to provide medical treatment outside jail, and the judiciary will not interfere with executive powers. Reports indicate the founder’s health has improved, and jail visits will follow the guidelines of the larger bench decision.
