GUJRAT: In a tragic incident in Gujrat, Punjab, an Imam allegedly killed his three-month-old daughter out of frustration over not having a son, local police reported on Thursday. The suspect, identified as Ali Ahmed, had been married for two years and was the father of only one daughter. According to the Gujrat police, the horrific act occurred when the father forcibly took the infant from her mother and threw her into the Head Khokhar Canal in front of his wife.
Officials from the Dinga Police Station stated that the suspect lured his wife, Maryam Ayesha, and their three-month-old daughter, Zainab, to the canal under false pretenses. Preliminary investigations revealed that Ahmed harbored resentment over not having a son, which led him to commit the heinous crime. The police confirmed that Ali Ahmed, who served as an Imam at Mojianwala Mosque, has been arrested, and a murder case registered against him at Dinga Police Station.
