MUMBAI: In a remarkable shift from the world of television to entrepreneurship, Ashka Goradia, a well-known actress from India’s TV industry, has created a business empire worth ₹1300 crores. Once a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, Ashka made the bold decision to leave her acting career behind and focus on building her own brand, which has now become a formidable player in the global cosmetics market.
Ashka’s journey in television began 22 years ago with the show Achanak 37 Saal Baad, but it was her role in Ekta Kapoor’s Kumkum that brought her widespread recognition. Over the years, she became one of the highest-paid actresses in the Indian television industry, starring in popular shows like Sindoor Tere Naam Ka, Virrudh, Naagin, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and Piya Ka Ghar. She also appeared in reality shows like Bigg Boss and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.
However, in 2019, Ashka made the bold decision to leave both the television industry and Mumbai. This decision was driven by her desire to focus entirely on her newly launched cosmetics brand, René, which she had started just a year earlier. The brand quickly gained momentum and, in just five years, transformed into a ₹1300 crore company that competes with well-established local players in the Indian market.
Ashka’s entrepreneurial journey is an inspiring example of how a successful career in entertainment can be leveraged into building a thriving business. In addition to her business achievements, Ashka married American businessman Brent Gohel in 2017 and welcomed their son in October 2023.
