HOUSTON: A large gathering of Pakistani-Americans convened in Houston for a Thanksgiving ceremony to pay tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their steadfast response to Indian aggression. The event, attended by hundreds from the diaspora, was organized by prominent Democratic leader Tahir Javed, who underscored the significance of unity and national pride in turbulent times.
Addressing the gathering via video link, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, remarked that “the moments of victory over India, which we are celebrating joyously, have become historic milestones in our national journey.” His remarks were met with strong applause, reinforcing a collective sentiment of solidarity with Pakistan’s military forces.
Consul General Aftab Chaudhry, speaking at the ceremony, delivered a strong message of deterrence, stating, “If our neighboring country demonstrates aggression again, they will receive an even harsher response.” His remarks resonated with attendees, many of whom expressed deep gratitude for the Armed Forces’ continued vigilance.
Tahir Javed, the event’s organizer, lauded the Pakistan Army’s role in defending the country’s sovereignty. “The Armed Forces have elevated Pakistan’s dignity across the globe by responding to provocations with strength and resolve,” he said.
Other notable speakers included former Sindh Assembly member Iram Azeem Farooqi, community leader Salman Razaqi, Shehla Maroof, and PJ Swati, all of whom praised the military’s bravery. They emphasized that such public acknowledgements serve not only as a morale booster for troops but also as a unifying force for Pakistanis living abroad. The ceremony was moderated by Ibrahim Javed, a young Democratic figure, who served as master of ceremonies.
