    Press Release

KARACHI: Indonesia showcased its economic, cultural and educational outreach at the My Karachi: Oasis of Harmony exhibition, which opened at the Karachi Expo Centre on Thursday and ran from 6 to 8 February.

The country’s participation was facilitated by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi, which set up a dedicated pavilion in Hall 5 to present what officials described as an integrated promotion of trade, social exchange and education. The pavilion offered visitors a single platform to explore business opportunities, cultural links and academic pathways connected to Indonesia.

Consulate representatives said the initiative reflected Indonesia’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan and strengthening long-standing bilateral ties. The pavilion was aimed at a wide audience, including business leaders, professionals, students and members of the public.

For entrepreneurs and traders, the display featured samples of Indonesia’s leading export products, highlighting the country’s manufacturing strength and commodity base. Officials said the exhibition provided opportunities for Pakistani distributors and investors to explore potential partnerships and expand trade links.

Students and young professionals were also given information about scholarship schemes and academic programmes offered by Indonesian universities, alongside details of cultural exchange and people-to-people initiatives.

To attract visitors, the Indonesian pavilion hosted daily interactive quizzes with prizes throughout the three-day event. Consulate officials said the activities were designed to encourage engagement while introducing visitors to Indonesia’s economy, culture and education sector.

The consulate said Indonesia’s presence at the exhibition underlined its role as a reliable economic partner, a diverse cultural destination and an emerging education hub for Pakistani students. The public was invited to visit the pavilion and take part in the activities during the exhibition.
