RAWALPINDI: Indus Shield 2024 has commenced, featuring participation from air chiefs and senior military officials of allied nations in a significant military event. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise showcased the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) advanced multi-domain combat capabilities, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among air forces worldwide. During the event, the Commander of the Sri Lankan Air Force, Air Marshal, met with PAF Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu.
Upon the Sri Lankan Commander’s arrival at Air Headquarters, a well-drilled PAF contingent presented a guard of honor. The discussion focused on operational matters within the context of regional security. The ISPR noted that the Sri Lankan Air Force Commander is on an official visit to observe the Indus Shield 2024 exercise. In their meeting, the PAF Chief elaborated on the Air Force’s operational goals and ongoing modernization plans in preparation for future conflicts. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar Sidhu commended the participation of Sri Lankan Air Force representatives in the Indus Shield exercise, highlighting the unparalleled friendly relations between the two nations.

Expressing a desire to further enhance the existing military ties between the two countries, the Sri Lankan Air Force Chief deemed Indus Shield 2024 a world-class exercise, featuring impressive training and multi-domain operational standards. The ISPR added that the objectives of the exercise include providing advanced training and strengthening the operational capabilities of the Sri Lankan Air Force. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar Sidhu assured comprehensive support to the Sri Lankan Air Force. The Sri Lankan Commander also visited the National ISR and Integrated Air Operations Center and the PAF Cyber Command, as well as the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, where he received briefings on the operational capabilities of the PAF.
