TEL AVIV: Iran launched a new missile attack on Israel using advanced weapons, with reports saying the residence of the US Consul General in Tel Aviv was struck by debris from the strike. The attack marked another escalation in the ongoing confrontation between the two countries.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the decisive strikes targeted enemy positions across the region. According to Iranian officials, the operation used multiple re-entry targetable missiles and high-speed Sejjil missiles, which were aimed at Israeli air operation command and control centres.
Israeli media reported that a fragment from an Iranian missile hit the residence of the US Consul General in Tel Aviv, damaging the interior of the building. It was not immediately clear whether the American diplomat was present at the time of the attack, though images of the damaged interior were later released.
In another missile strike on Tel Aviv, several vehicles were destroyed and caught fire. Israeli media also released footage showing cars burning in different parts of the city.
Reports said at least five major attacks targeted Tel Aviv overnight, leaving residents anxious and forcing many to spend the night under severe tension as sirens and explosions were heard across the city.
