KARACHI: Former Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad, has made a bold statement regarding the role of foreign adversaries in destabilizing Pakistan. Addressing party workers in Korangi via video link, he asserted that these opponents, who are currently based abroad, are actively seeking to exploit the country’s vulnerabilities through conspiracies designed to inflict harm.
Dr. Ibad introduced the slogan “My Identity is Pakistan” to rally support amidst the challenging political landscape, underscoring the need for unity in the face of external threats. He emphasized the pivotal role of the Pakistan Armed Forces as the first line of defense, noting that their commitment is essential for maintaining peace and stability in the region. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of a robust relationship between the public and the military in safeguarding national security. Dr. Ibad’s comments suggest a growing frustration with the political climate in Pakistan, where he claims that certain factions are uncomfortable with his active participation in politics. He also hinted at ongoing discussions surrounding the recent 26th amendment, indicating that only time will tell whether it will succeed in maintaining political equilibrium in the country.
