TEL AVIV: The Israeli military’s communication system has developed a fault, raising concerns over a security breach and the potential leak of sensitive information following the technical failure. Iranian media has claimed that serious security flaws have emerged in the Israeli military’s communication systems, creating a crisis in the management of wartime strategy.
According to reports, certain expert groups associated with the communications sector have gained access to the Israeli military’s secure communication codes. This development became possible when relevant experts obtained information about companies and hardware used by the military. The report indicates that the Israeli military’s communication system relies on telecommunications hardware from European countries.
Sources suggest that internal military conversations and contacts, particularly remote wireless systems and command and control networks, are conducted through a secure internet telephone system. The report further stated that when details of this infrastructure were leaked, the related encryption codes also fell into the hands of cyber experts, raising fears that sensitive Israeli military communications could be monitored or intercepted to some extent.
Meanwhile, the report also indicated that the Israeli military has acknowledged awareness of the leaked information and is considering introducing a new communication system. However, experts say that changing such a system is a complex and lengthy process that cannot be completed in a short timeframe.
