KARACHI: In a significant push to strengthen local industry and cottage enterprises, Air Karachi’s Chief Financial Officer, Reja Saleem, emphasized that such initiatives create jobs and stimulate economic activity. She spoke at the inauguration of Faisal Fabrics and Faisal Garments, highlighting the importance of empowering local businesses for sustainable growth and economic self-reliance.
Asma Aamir, Vice President of the Handicrafts Association of Pakistan, stressed that promoting local handicrafts and the textile sector is crucial, reaffirming the association’s commitment to supporting skilled artisans and giving locally made products a competitive edge.
The event was attended by association members Qurrat-ul-Ain and Shumaila Khan, as well as other participants from various sectors. Faisal Fabrics and Faisal Garments were formally launched, alongside a cottage industry project aimed at supporting home-based enterprises and empowering local artisans.
The ceremony concluded with iftar and dinner, where guests appreciated the hosts’ efforts and engaged in informal discussions, celebrating a positive step toward economic self-reliance.
