ISLAMABAD: Karachi is bracing for a period of notably hot and dry weather in the coming days, according to forecasts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The majority of the country, including Karachi, Islamabad, Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is expected to endure persistently high temperatures and dry conditions. In Karachi, the weather has been characterized by humidity and partly cloudy skies throughout the day.
The PMD has indicated that while significant rainfall is not anticipated over the next 24 hours, light drizzle is possible in various parts of the city. The minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded at 26.5°C, with a maximum expected to reach 33°C. Sea breezes, blowing at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, are expected to provide some relief, though high humidity levels will make the temperature feel approximately 5°C warmer than the actual readings. Residents of Karachi should brace for intermittent drizzle, although heavy rainfall is unlikely in the near future.
Conversely, northern regions such as Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Laki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan may experience light rain and thunderstorms. Balochistan is predicted to remain predominantly hot and dry, while Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to have partly cloudy skies with isolated light rain and thunderstorms. The upcoming weather pattern underscores the need for residents across Pakistan to stay hydrated and take precautions against the heat. The variations in weather conditions across different regions highlight the diverse climatic challenges facing the country.
