KARACHI: Light rain throughout the night and into the morning, combined with sea breezes, has resulted in pleasantly cool weather in Karachi. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that Keamari recorded the highest rainfall at 4.5 mm.

Further rain is anticipated over the next 24 hours, with the sky expected to remain cloudy and humid conditions persisting. Sea breezes may reach speeds exceeding 40 km/h. The minimum temperature recorded today was 27.5°C, with a maximum expected to be around 32°C. The current weather patterns suggest that Karachi is likely to experience a wet start to the week, with continued cloudy skies. On Saturday, Karachi’s weather was predominantly cloudy, with stronger-than-usual sea breezes reaching speeds of up to 38 km/h (21 nautical miles), providing some relief from the humidity.

The maximum temperature recorded was 31.5°C, with humidity levels at 75 percent.  The city also experienced light rain and drizzle in various areas, including Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Gulistan-e-Johar, Federal B Area, Rashid Minhas Road, Sharae Faisal, and University Road. Light rain is also expected in rural districts of Sindh, including Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Larkana, and Sukkur, on August 13. As Karachi braces for the anticipated rains, residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and prepare for potential disruptions.

The city’s maximum temperature reached 31.5°C, with relative humidity at 75%. The Meteorological Department expects light rain to persist over the next two days, with temperatures projected to range between 30°C and 32°C. The weather is anticipated to remain moderate. In addition to Karachi, a new monsoon system is expected to bring rainfall to various districts in rural Sindh in the coming days. This system may lead to increased precipitation and potentially impact local conditions throughout the region.
