KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah joined dignitaries and members of the diplomatic community in Karachi on Tuesday to mark Kuwait’s 65th National Day and the 35th anniversary of the liberation of the Gulf state.
The event, hosted at a local hotel by Kuwaiti Ambassador Salem Al-Hamdan, was attended by Governor Sindh Mohammad Kamran Tessori, senior officials, and representatives of the business and social community. During the reception, Chief Minister Shah presented a bouquet to Ambassador Al-Hamdan, a gesture symbolizing goodwill and the enduring bond between Pakistan and Kuwait.
The ceremony also included the traditional cutting of a commemorative cake, with Shah, Governor Tessori, the ambassador, and other distinguished guests taking part. The event combined formal diplomacy with a celebratory spirit, offering attendees a moment to reflect on the long-standing friendship between the two nations.
Addressing the gathering, Murad Ali Shah extended heartfelt congratulations to Kuwait on both milestones. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, highlighting the “strong and brotherly ties” that have connected the countries over decades. The Chief Minister emphasized the shared history, cultural links, and mutual support that underpin the partnership, praising Kuwait’s progress and resilience since its liberation.
The reception served not only as a ceremonial celebration but also as an opportunity for Pakistani officials and the diplomatic corps to engage in dialogue, foster goodwill, and explore avenues for cooperation in trade, education, and cultural exchange.
