    Karachi hosts reception for Nawā-e-Kausar launch

    KARACHI: A reception ceremony was held under the auspices of Anjuman-e-Asatiza Pakistan at Bahadur Yar Jang Academy in Bahadurabad, Karachi, on Thursday, 1 January, to honor Nawā-e-Kausar, a book authored by the organization’s senior leader Raja Kausar Saeedi, and Shahid Research Journal.

    The journal is published by Shahid Research Foundation, a sister organisation of Anjuman-e-Asatiza Pakistan, and is edited by Dilawar Khan Noori. The programme began at 5pm with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Muhammad Ramzan. This was followed by a naat in praise of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), presented by Dr Anwar Iqbal Siddiqui.

    The ceremony was presided over by the noted educationist Ustad-ul-Muallimeen Khawaja Qamar-ul-Hasan, while the chief guest was Professor Dr Hakim Hasan Askari. Critical views and observations on Shahid Research Journal and Nawā-e-Kausar were shared by Professor Dr Dilawar Khan, Professor Dr Khurram Aasi, and Muhammad Ahmad Tarazi.

    The guests of honour included Aslam Farooqi, Rao Abdul Rehman, Professor Anis Zaidi, Professor Shah Fahad, Professor Badr-ud-Din Badr, Dr Tariq Rajput, Dr Hafiz Anwar Hussain, Maqsood Hussain Owaisi Noshahi, and Professor Laiq Ahmed Sarwari Qadri. Following the reception, a poetry symposium (mushaira) was organized in collaboration with a literary organization.

    The session was presided over by Professor Raziya Subhan Qureshi, while Iftikhar Malik Advocate attended as the guest of honour. Poets who recited their work included Urooj Wasti, Yasmin Yas, Farhana Ashraf, Gul Afshan, Rahat-ul-Kubra, Najia Qureshi, Shazia Alam Shazi, Raja Kausar Saeedi, Dr Wasim-ud-Din, and Khurshid Ahmed.

    The proceedings were conducted by Dr Fayyaz Ahmed Shaheen, central president of Anjuman-e-Asatiza Pakistan. The vote of thanks was delivered by Professor Shah Fahad. The event was organised by Professor Dr Anwar Iqbal, president of Anjuman Karachi Division, and Shabbir Ahmed Chaudhry, secretary general of Anjuman Karachi.
