KARACHI: A second meeting of the Special Task Force was held at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) office under the chairmanship of the DIG East Zone, Dr Farrukh Ali, to review security measures for industrial areas and protection for factory owners.

The meeting, attended by senior task force officers and prominent KATI members, was given a detailed briefing on practical steps taken to improve law and order in industrial zones, arrests made so far, and ongoing operations aimed at safeguarding factory owners.
KATI members stressed the need to ensure that arrested suspects were taken to their logical conclusion and called for the arrest of remaining nominated accused. They also demanded decisive action against elements backing labor leaders involved in blackmailing and intimidation.
Addressing the meeting, DIG East Zone Dr Farrukh Ali said a zero-tolerance policy was being strictly implemented against harassment of factory owners, illegal demands, blackmailing and extortion. He said the East Zone police were fully committed to providing a peaceful and secure environment so that industrialists could continue their business activities without fear.
He further directed police officers to ensure the prompt and effective redressal of complaints lodged by factory owners and to take strong action against miscreants involved in creating unrest. During the meeting, district Korangi police officers were commended by the task force head and KATI leadership for their good performance and effective action.
At the conclusion of the meeting, KATI president Ikram Rajput, along with Zubair Chhaya, Masood Naqi, Muhammad Danish Khan and other office-bearers, expressed special appreciation and gratitude for the practical measures taken by the Special Task Force to protect the industrial community.
