KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Energy Nasser Hussain Shah has responded to MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s statement Nasser Hussain Shah described Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s comments regarding Jinnah Hospital as ridiculous, and added, “Khalid Maqbool claims that Karachi is paying both taxes and donations. Let’s not forget the donations MQM has received in the form of sacrificial hides.”

He stated that the funds collected for hospitals are spent on public welfare, and questioned how MQM has utilized their resources. “The whole country is aware of the work done by the Sindh government in the health sector,” he said. Shah further commented that MQM denies every good deed by the PPP. “Karachi acknowledges our work. MQM must understand that the control over Karachi is no longer theirs.” He added, “When philanthropists donate to Jinnah Hospital, it signifies trust in the Sindh government. The Sindh government spends annually Rs 30 billion on Jinnah Hospital, NICVD, and NICHD. Whether you acknowledge it or not makes no difference.”

Nasser Hussain Shah criticized MQM Pakistan for focusing solely on rhetoric. “We invest our energy and money in serving the public, whereas MQM only expends energy on statements.” He questioned, “Who has taken away Karachi’s vibrancy, literary gatherings, and educational activities? The city has witnessed great bloodshed and violence.”
