KASHMIR: Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, delivered a powerful speech in Lahore, asserting that the liberation of Kashmir cannot be achieved merely through slogans or advertisements but through jihad. Addressing a gathering at Mansoorah, he called for a dedicated commitment of both wealth and lives in the pursuit of this cause, emphasizing the need for a revolutionary approach.
He paid tribute to figures like Syed Ali Gilani, who spent much of his life imprisoned for the cause of Kashmir, and spoke of the sacrifices made for both the Palestinian and Kashmiri struggles. Highlighting the ongoing resilience of Palestinians in Gaza despite Israeli aggression, Hafiz Naeem drew parallels to the situation in Kashmir, expressing that meaningful freedom requires more than just dialogue.
Criticizing the government’s reliance on mere advertisements to address Kashmir’s plight, he argued that rights cannot be granted through superficial means. Instead, he called for the government and military to take a definitive stance and take action regarding Kashmir. Hafiz Naeem also condemned powerful nations for their support of occupying forces, labeling the freedom fighters as terrorists and highlighting the double standards present in international politics.
He was particularly vocal against those in Pakistan advocating friendship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning why there is talk of strengthening ties with India when the Kashmir issue remains unresolved. Additionally, he criticized the previous government, alleging compromises on Kashmir’s status during former PTI chief Imran Khan’s tenure. In his closing remarks, Hafiz Naeem urged the Pakistan Army to disclose the circumstances surrounding the removal of Kashmir’s special status, emphasizing that it is their responsibility to keep the public informed about these critical issues.
